As a professional accountant (CPA, CMA) with advanced, post designation tax training, Phil designs, models and implements comprehensive strategic wealth plans for private business families and incorporated professionals that maximize tax-efficiency, improve ongoing cash flow and deliver financial peace of mind. 

Committed to lifelong learning and prior to completing his education in accounting, Phil majored in Chemistry at McGill University before adding additional qualifications in Applied Information Technology from the Information Technology Institute in Vancouver, as well as Sales and Marketing Management from the Sauder School of Business at UBC. Since joining the financial services industry in 2008, Phil has attained the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designations to complement his accounting and tax expertise.

Phil’s professional experience complements his extensive education. Prior to joining Promerita, Phil worked at several of North America’s largest financial institutions as a consultant to incorporated professionals and high net worth clients in wealth, taxation and estate planning matters. He also teaches advanced tax courses, serves on the Education Committee of the Institute for Advanced Financial Education where he is involved in leading the development of the Institute’s Tax, Law and Estate Planning curriculum and has served as a Trustee and Treasurer of the Vancouver Waldorf School Society, overseeing the financial management policies for the school attended by his children. 

Outside of his professional and community involvement, Phil enjoys playing classical guitar and hiking with his wife and children in Vancouver, BC where he currently resides.
